Reports indicate a significant increase in mosquito populations, leading to high discomfort for travelers. Medical advice: bring high-strength repellent (DEET or Picaridin) and anti-histamines. Accommodations in tourist areas like Varadero generally have emergency protocols, but travel insurance covering natural disasters is highly recommended.
