Insufficient proof can lead to residence permit cancellation. Essential documents include bank statements, employment contracts, or 2-NDFL certificates. Do not proactively submit extra documents unless requested, but be prepared to provide evidence if asked.
• For a minor applying for a Finnish residence permit (especially the first one), a sponsorship letter from parents is generally required if the child lacks independent income or gifted funds. Parents are considered automatic sponsors, and their financial sources must be documented. Acceptable proof of funds can include: parents' income statements, property sale agreements, and potentially loan documentation (though this may be viewed critically). It is advisable to demonstrate the origin of the funds. If funds originate from gifts, documentation proving the gift (e.g., a gift deed) might be needed, especially if the gift was received prior to the initial permit application. Health insurance coverage for the child can also be a supportive document.
• Depositing physical cash into Finnish banks (e.g., OP, S-Pankki) is highly restricted and difficult. Banks require rigorous proof of funds (source of income documentation). Most personal experiences indicate that such attempts are unpredictable and rarely successful.
• For family reunification in Finland, applicants must demonstrate sufficient financial means. This typically requires an income or savings (either from the sponsor or the applicant) of approximately 17,000-21,000 EUR per year per person.
• For visa application purposes in Finland, bank statements printed directly from mobile banking applications are generally accepted as proof of funds. Official bank stamps/seals are typically not required.
• Depositing cash brought from Russia into Finnish bank accounts can be difficult. Often, English-language versions of documents directly from the bank are sufficient. The residency application process can typically be completed by the applicant personally without the need for paid immigration consultants.
